Business Mentor - Galway City Partnership
Tasks:
To
act as a business mentor on a one-to-one basis to people who have recently
become self-employed. A mentor is expected to listen, provide information and
identify obstacles to business growth and to suggest possible solutions to
develop business progression.
Provide relevant up to date information on business product development and/or
help in making an application to secure business funding. The mentor should
encourage individuals to
take appropriate action beneficial to the business and guide them in their
decision making process.
Skills/ Qualities
Needed:
Relevant
qualifications are desirable. However, experience can be a good substitute
where a formal qualification does not exist. A mentor must demonstrate
competency in his/her chosen area of expertise.
Some awareness of the issues experienced by the unemployed is expected. Mentors
should have good interpersonal and motivational skills, demonstrate patience
and empathy towards prospective client.
