Seamus - Amnesty International Fair Trade Shop and Café
Seamus 'I’m really happy here… it’s always good to help one another and I’m meeting new people all the time.'

Seamus comes from Connemara and until recently had been attending the Rehab Care Centre in Casla where he had worked in the factory for almost 20 years.

Last Christmas, Seamus along with others attending the centre were given the bad news that their work would be coming to an end.

Seamus had attended a talk about volunteering in Rehab and soon afterwards decided that he would register with the centre to find out a little more about getting involved as a volunteer.

The idea of volunteering in a charity shop appealed to Seamus and he went about getting in touch with Amnesty International to make enquiries about coming on board there. He then started volunteering for one shift a week, while still looking for a part time job.

Seamus has now been there over three months and is enjoying his experience hugely.
