Tasks:

To undergo a 2 day non residential training programme on a weekend and then Mentor a young person who has attended our Leadership
programme. The Mentoring is for 12 months with 1-2 hours a month required for face to face or online Mentoring support.

Skills/ Qualities Needed:

Interest in the aims of Lucca Leadership, out-going, friendly, patient, good communication skills, empathy

Training and Support Provided: Yes

Time Required: 1 hour per week for 1 year

Number of Volunteers Needed: 15

Location of Volunteering:

To be decided between the volunteer and the mentee as approved by Lucca Leadership

Minimum Age Requirement: None given

Screening: Garda Vetting; Informal Interviews; Application Form

Extra Information:

Lucca mentoring programme is open to both male and female adult volunteers (over 30 years old) who can share 1-2 hours a month with a young person (16 – 30 years old).

The aim of the mentoring is to support young persons as they take on the challenges of making a difference in their community, through volunteering, setting up projects, social entrepreneurship and more. Lucca has found that the mentoring provides the young person with the support they need to keep their inspiration, enthusiasm, commitment and passion alive as they take on life’s challenges and implement positive change in their communities.
