Tasks: Assisting in media projects with teenagers

Skills/ Qualities Needed:

Committed to working with young people in an inclusive, non-discriminatory setting. Willing to carry out duties in accordance with Children First Guidelines. Patience with young people and experience and skills in web design, photography, journalism and video is required.

Training and Support Provided: Yes

Time Required: 3 hours per week for 6 months

Number of Volunteers Needed: 5

Location of Volunteering: Rahoon Family Centre

Minimum Age Requirement: 18

The Rahoon Youth Project is managed by Youth Work Ireland –Galway and funded by the Young Persons Facilities and Services Fund through the City of Galway Vocational Education Committee. It delivers a range of after-school/school holidays developmental activities and educational supports to young people, living in the Rahoon area, in the 10 - 21 age range. The programme is designed to prevent misuse of drugs and alcohol, help young people to stay on at school and deliver access to holistic developmental pathways.
