Training and Support Provided: Yes

Time Required:

2 hours per week. Mornings and afternoons available. Monday to Friday. Minimum commitment of 6 months required for the role

Location of Volunteering:

Centres located in Galway city and Tuam. Volunteers needed in both locations.

Minimum Age Requirement: 18

Ability West is a voluntary organization, which provides a range of high quality, community based services to children and adults with an intellectual disability throughout Galway City and County and strives to assist each individual to reach their full potential.

Every effort is made to ensure the volunteer placement is enjoyable and beneficial to both volunteer and our service users. Volunteers are supported in their role and will become part of a network of volunteers who meet on a regular basis.

Due to the vulnerability of our service users, becoming a volunteer with Ability West can be slow compared to other organizations due to screening and training, however, most volunteers find that it has been worth the wait!
