Tasks: Listening on the phone, answering emails and engaging face to face with people in need of emotional support

Time Required: 3-4 hours per week commitment required for minimum of one year. Times of work can be determined by volunteer.

Number of Volunteers Needed: 25

Location of Volunteering: 14 Nuns Island, Galway

Anyone interested in this role is asked to attend an upcoming information evening.

Our next information evenings will be held on September 7th @ 8pm in the Galway Bay Hotel and September 14th in the Oranmore Lodge @8pm. 

Samaritans provides confidential non-judgemental emotional support, 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which could lead to suicide.

We offer our service by telephone, email, letter and face to face in most of our branches.
