Hannah is a retired widow with previous experience of working in a charity shop in Galway for a number of years. When registering with the centre Hannah mentioned her interest in learning some IT skills.

Not long after this, Hannah had signed up to do an IT course with Age Action, and is now aiming to become a voluntary IT trainer in the near future.

Having also taken up volunteer work in Age Action's charity shop in the city centre Hannah is doing something she really enjoys while using her previous skills.

Since starting the course in IT training, Hannah has made a number of new friends and has joined a women's group which she attends regularly. She is very happy to be active again and said ‘I am putting myself out there and it seems to be working!’

She added that getting involved in her community has given her a new lease of life, a greater sense of worth as well as a new social outlet for herself.
