Daniela Zervanova - GSPCA 'This definately involves love, it is work from the heart'

Daniela is from Slovakia and has been living in Galway for some time now.

She began volunteering in the cattery in the Galway SPCA in September 2007, after visiting their animal sanctuary in Loughrea, where she adopted a dog who needed a good home.

By looking to do something entirely different from her previous work experience in accounting Daniella decided to do some volunteer work. Always a huge animal lover, the idea of working directly with animals really appealed to her. Now working five mornings a week in the cattery she gets a great deal out of her work and when asked about it she simply says 'This definately involves love, it is work from the heart'.

She went on to stress that the work can be difficult at times and she has to take the rough with the smooth. Coming across cruelty cases while giving individual love and attention to each and every animal can be a challenge at times but something she finds extremely rewarding.

Daniela also helped to raise some much needed funds for the GSPCA by designing their Christmas cards last year which featured some very cute pictures of the cats and dogs who have recently become stars in both the cattery and animal sanctuary!
